Communication Lab in partnership with Balsall Heath Parish Children’s Worker Project
Ages 8-16
Communication Lab emphasised non-verbal means of communication – touch and sight. The space was set up as a laboratory, with participants
given the title and role of a Communication Expert. Throughout the
project a range of games and tasks helped participants listen and
observe others as well as discovering new means of expression
themselves.

Take Control in partnership with The Box, Selly Oak
Ages 13-17

Take Control focused on taking responsibility for yourself and
others, and the rewards of leadership. Throughout the week creative
responsibility was gradually passed from the workshop leaders to the
participants, finishing with the participants guiding the leaders
blindfolded around an imaginary walk created in the space.

Both workshop series were provided free to the participants, and funded
by Birmingham City Council and Trust Greenbelt.
